Sjoerd van Rooijen

While in the early planning stages of ochs und junior
in 2006 and conceptualising the settimana junior,
we knew we wanted to accompany it with a comic
strip by Sjoerd van Rooijen.
Now the Dutchman – tucked away in his bright loft studio – is illustrating not just the comic strip, but
also the ochsundjunior.ch pages, creating the
designs for the wallets the watches are presented in, and designing our company letterhead. He acts as
the sparring partner of and intelligent facilitator for
the ochs und junior communications department
(i.e. Beat).
His pen tickles the paper with gentle, whimsical
charm, enough to bring a smile to anyone’s face. Sjoerd is up for all kinds of crazy ideas, whether his own or those we suggest to him.
He is our graphic designer, thinker and prankster, breathing life into ochsundjunior.ch – our website
will always have enough content to inspire Sjoerd to new heights of illustrative expression.
He has kept virtually all the notes and doodles he
made during our countless telephone calls –
