anno cinquanta in white gold

The ochs und junior annual calendar comprises three components displaying orange dots. Ludwig Oechslin has achieved it using the minimum possible number of parts.

The anno cinquanta’s identity emerges from the rigorous re-conceptualisation of components and ideas. It incorporates everything Ludwig Oechslin wants a watch to be.

The heat-treated white gold dial displays only what is really necessary: the time, the date, the month and the weekday. Ludwig Oechslin likes to focus on the time horizon and how it’s interpreted – and on the stories that emerge from that. He also insists on his ochs und junior watch cases being ultra-precisely machined so they need no final polishing. That will happen over time by virtue of being worn. Every little mark the case receives will reveal something of the life its owner has led.
