Every watch Ludwig Oechslin has ever designed – including those commissioned by Ulysse Nardin – stem from the same source. Welling up inside him are concepts for watches, which he then turns into prototypes in his workshop at home. His creations are imbued with a particular character that leverages all his scientific, academic, artistic and philosophical faculties. The result? Reductionism: everything pared down to the minimum number of moving parts – with functionality writ large.
